We're Looking for a Senior Design Engineer or Engineering Technologist

The position of Senior Design Engineer / Engineering Technologist has three primary objectives, namely:

  1. Coordinate all road safety audit projects undertaken by the company, with lead responsibility to conduct audits in South Australia and the Northern Territory (assisted by other road safety auditors depending on availability) as well as technical review of road safety audits conducted in Victoria and other states.  In this capacity, the Senior Design Engineer / Engineering Technologist operates autonomously, under the general direction of the Engineering Manager;
  2. Act as design manager and technical design lead for all road design projects undertaken by the company in South Australia and Victoria, supported in the geometric design process by an experienced road design technician(s).  This task includes detailed checking of design drawings, but high level technical oversight of the design and final drawing approval is provided by the Principal Engineer Road Transport; and
  3. Provide technical support to the Principal Engineer Road Transport with other traffic engineering and road transport planning projects undertaken in South Australia, including undertaking traffic impact assessments and road deficiency assessments, as well as preparation and/or evaluation of various road grant funding applications.

‚ÄčEssential Requirements for the Successful Candidate:

  • Qualified in civil or traffic engineering at the professional engineer (degree) level or engineering technologist (diploma) level.
  • Minimum seven years (professional engineer) or ten years (engineering technologist) experience since graduation, working in road safety and road design.
  • Accredited with the Department of Transport Planning and Infrastructure (South Australia), VicRoads (Victoria) or equivalent state body as a Senior Road Safety Auditor.
  • At least two years demonstrated experience managing projects, including client liaison, with minimum supervision from a superior manager.
  • Eligible for corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
