Road Safety during the Adelaide O-Bahn City Access project
Over the past two years HDS Australia has been undertaking road safety audits of the Adelaide O-Bahn City Access project for both McConnell Dowell Constructors and Kellog Brown & Root. This has included road safety audits of the design of the project itself and of the roadworks traffic management schemes in place during the construction works.

The design road safety audits have included audits at the 70% and final design stages. The bulk of the design audits were completed by August 2017 and involved four of HDS Australia's Senior Road Safety Auditors, Barry Fishburn, Hugh Dixon, Kyle Yang and Deshitha Senanayake, as well as our Principal Engineer, Road Transport, John Olson.

HDS Australia has also undertaken road safety audits of the traffic management schemes that are in place during the construction of the O-Bahn City Access project. These have included audits of the roadworks traffic management plans prior to implementation, and onsite audits while they are in operation. HDS Australia has recently completed the pre-opening audit, and will be undertaking the post-opening road safety audit once the project is opened to traffic.

HDS Australia has previously been involved as the primary supplier of road safety audit services from concept design through to post opening for a number of large, iconic road projects in South Australia, including the Southern Expressway Duplication, Northern Expressway, Port River Expressway and Bald Hills Road Interchange. Our current involvement in the O-Bahn City Access project continues to build upon this record of providing road traffic and safety advice for significant transportation infrastructure projects.
