Network Level Heavy Vehicle Route Assessment and Risk Analysis – Rural City of Murray Bridge

HDS Australia has been undertaking a network level heavy vehicle route assessment and risk analysis for the Rural City of Murray Bridge. Tim Viner Smith, a senior road safety auditor and heavy vehicle route assessor has spent the past two weeks driving and reviewing the Councils existing heavy vehicle network. This network is made up of roads already gazetted for B Double use and roads which are operating under B Double permits for various needs. High risk items on these routes have been rated and flagged for Council to review. Furthermore larger parts of the network have been reviewed for potential use by heavy vehicles; this will be useful information for Council going forward should additional requests arise for new B Double routes from the new National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.

Daniel Ahrens undertakes a technical review of the work with additional regional transport planning input added by John Olson from a regional strategic level. HDS Australia has undertaken these network level audits for several regional Councils in the past year mainly by Deshitha Senanayake and Herman Zhou who are both senior road safety auditors.
