HDS Australia is pleased to have been involved in LATM projects at Lightwood Road, Springvale and also Halton Road, Dandenong North on behalf of the City of Greater Dandenong.
At the Springvale Road intersection HDS Australia was responsible for preparation of the BlackSpot concept design and scope approval report. Construction is now complete, consisting of roundabouts being installed at Lawn Road and Shirley Street, blisters at Elm Grove and Colonsay Road and a splitter island at Warwick Avenue. HDS Australia also undertook the road safety audit during the detailed design stage.
Construction works have also been completed at Halton Road where blisters were installed at Barkers Road and Heyington Crescent and a pedestrian refuge island at Elonera Road. HDS Australia was responsible for preparation of the BlackSpot concept design and scope approval report for this project. HDS Australia also undertook the detailed design.
These new works have been installed in response to a history of casualty crashes along the entire length of both Lightwood and Halton Roads. HDS Australia undertook the development of the scope of works in 2015 as part of a yearly program of road safety reviews for the City of Greater Dandenong. The works were funded as part of the 2016 Federal BlackSpot Programme.
These new LATM treatments will lower vehicle speeds in the area, improve road safety at the mid-block intersections and reduce the likelihood of casualty crashes.
