Kimberley Drive and Black Springs Road Traffic Signal Works Complete

Works to install traffic signals at the intersection of Kimberley Drive and Black Springs Road in Chirnside Park have recently been completed.  HDS Australia prepared design plans for this project and provided advice during construction. The works were undertaken for the Yarra Ranges Council.

The project was completed under Federal Government Funding with support from Council and developers. The crash history at this location related to right turns at the intersection. In particular, high traffic volumes on Corrigan Road may have increased the difficulty of finding a safe gap for drivers turning at the intersection, especially during peak hours.

The formerly unsignalised T-junction has now been modified to be under traffic signal control and includes a partial controlled right turn for southbound traffic. The signalisation is expected to enhance driver awareness of the intersection, improve traffic and pedestrian safety and reduce the risk of casualty crashes at this location.
