Daniel Ahrens, Senior Roads and Infrastructure Engineer at HDS Australia, has recently attained his Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) qualification and is now registered on the National Engineering Register (NER). The NER is a directory maintained by Engineers Australia that recognises experienced engineers who have met the high standards of professionalism expected to lead engineering teams or practice independently across nine general and ten special areas of practice within the engineering industry. Daniel is now registered under the "Civil Engineering" area of practice.
Daniel has been working toward his CPEng since he was appointed HDS Australia's Senior Roads and Infrastructure Engineer in November 2016, using experience gained in his current role and in previous engineering roles at a large consulting company, within the waste management industry and in the local government sector. Daniel originally worked for HDS Australia as a graduate engineer from 2003 to 2006, and his achievement of CPEng status is the result of a significant period of professional engineering development and experience.
The CPEng designation adds to Daniel's existing expertise in project management, construction superintendency, road design and asset management. It will enable Daniel to formally approve the release of designs and reports on behalf of the company, especially in areas where legislation requires a Chartered Professional Engineer to assure clients of the quality of all project deliverables. Congratulations to Daniel on this significant professional milestone.
