Following the completion of the 8.3km rising main between Stockwell and Truro in June, construction on the Truro Community Wastewater Management System (CWMS) has now turned to installation of the gravity connections. These will connect individual properties to the system, with wastewater flowing under gravity through to the new pump station, prior to being pumped to Stockwell.
The attached photo shows some of the trenching works underway to install the gravity property connections. 26 of the total 83 gravity connections have been completed, with construction of the remaining 57 to continue throughout the next month. A further 13 pressure connections will also be constructed as part of the new wastewater collection system that will service a total of 102 properties.
HDS Australia's Deshitha Senanayake continues to act as the Superintendent's Representative on site through this final stage of construction works. The property connection construction is expected to be completed late in September.
